Following the successful political campaign Matt Hodgson crafted and directed for W Communications and their client Rob Bishop—that won Bishop a seat in the United States Congress, W was anxious to take the next step to promote their fledgling branding agency. With the blessing of agency president and successful business entrepreneur Jeff Wright, Hodgson was tapped to create a short film that promoted W Communications in much the same way BMW was promoting itself through it’s successful BMW film series.
Hodgson created a dramatic, stylized black and white short featuring a group of tenacious business people in pursuit of a mysterious branding guru from W. The short premiered in area movie theaters and was distributed on DVDs and via the internet. The short—written and directed by Matt Hodgson and lensed by DP Matthew Williams was shot in HD, and edited in HD at Sunset Digital in Burbank. DI was produced at EFILM in Hollywood, and 35mm theatrical prints where printed at Deluxe Color in Hollywood. 5.1 Surround Sound was encoded at Dolby Labs in Burbank.
